[ The way Vash pops up onto the screen is kind of akin to a meerkat poking its head up to watch for predators. Except, in this case it's accompanied by a wave and a bit of a sheepish smile. ]

I thought a couple of games might be fun... you know, to meet people who are here we might normally miss.

[ He grins a little, the corners of his eyes crinkling with the expression as he leans in towards the camera, like he's adjusting some setting or another that can't be seen. Also these kinds of games are good for information gathering and sharing... there's a lot that Vash does not know as well as he wants so... ]

I think the easiest one would beeeee... [ He rocks back a little in frame, his head tilting a little before he holds up one finger. ] "What 3 things would you take to a deserted island?" Assuming no one has any special abilities. Boats kinda beat the spirit of the game too. You might learn something new about someone!

The other game's "two truths and a lie"! [ The one finger held up is joined by another, an impromptu peace gesture. ] The point is to give all three and the other person is supposed to pick what the lie is.

Give it a try! Might be fun, right?

[ Sakura was not exactly the best at this sort of broadcast. It was essentially social media, and she was of the shy and introverted sort of Otherworlder, given her background. But she and Lucy had given this some discussion, and, weighing the merits, it seemed like a good idea.

Anyway, this broadcast is of the neural network type. That makes it easier on her to appear virtual/softened and to be relaxed. ]

Recently, I was speaking to another Otherworlder, one of you from the... more futuristic worlds. This was at the coffee shop.

We discussed... our guide. [ The girl who is apparently half-machine? If she understood correctly? Hence the hesitance. ] We would like to reach out to her. We wish to prepare a broadcast of memories as an extension of good will. Who would be willing to participate?

If not... perhaps signing/writing a note.

Completely voluntary. We discussed perhaps... a sort of digital card. Something like that. Our questions or observations about Magisteria so far. That girl - Seraphine Nova. She did mention wanting to speak with us.

Good evening. I'm Dr. Veritas Ratio.

It seems I've been given an assignment by the Powers that Be of this city. They'd like me to investigate the power called "Umbra". In their letter, it's mentioned that this was possibly used by the Fractured during their recent engagement with the residents.

If anyone who participated in that fight is willing to provide me with any information for this research, please reach out here. If you would prefer a private channel, feel free to contact me here.

Also, this letter mentions something regarding the Nightglow flowers. If you have any experience with these, I would like to speak with you also.

And I'm sure someone will ask, whoever sent this didn't sign their letter.

[This is not the username, or indeed aXess Link device, that SecUnit has used before. It needs to get the lay of the land here, understand how the others think about bots and AI and all the crazy shit they just went through, and it's too paranoid to do that under its own (user)name. Besides, it's going to be saying things it doesn't necessarily believe, so better to just...not be itself, right? It's just writing a character right now, like in its shows.

(Incidentally, it's possible that it hasn't been around much because it's been binge-watching this really cool local show that it found on the network about visitors to Magisteria who put together a detective agency and start solving mysteries in ways the natives have never thought of before, you should really try it, it's only 14 seasons long and that's not a lot if you're like SecUnit and can just watch for days on end -)

Those Fractured things were really creepy. Is that something that just happens to AI? We don't have anything like that where I come from.

I am experimenting with the broadcasting abilities of this device. It would seem it can create text of this nature simply when I communicate the words to it? Fascinating! Ahahaha! Indeed, it even captures my laugh! Ahaha... how delightful...

[ well, u know, it's delightful to him, anyway. brain-to-text laugh is some good and important technology. ]

Well, it would seem that this network is not censored, so shall we speak freely? What do you all make of this city-state? It would seem an eclectic one. The people and the wildlife seem... though somewhat unorthodox, contented. No, more than contented. They seem quite proud. A mixed society with a strong identity tied to a city-state. And yet the world is an eccentric one, you might say.

But is the eccentricity merely a curious byproduct of a world which has been evolving since the most ancient times and now also has futuristic technology, or is there something more deliberate or coordinated at work?

Since it seems we're here for a while, I figure it might be time for us all to get to know each other... without the help of that strange AI program.

I come from a country named Ylisse. It's led by an Exalt, the current one is Chrom. We use more magic than the kind of technology that's found here. And our magic is different, but that may be true for others too. It's a normally peaceful country too, even if the past few years haven't been that way.

Hello, Otherworlders... I am Soraya. You could say I am a Cosmic Traveler, or the descendant thereof. I live in Evergreen Terrace as well. The proprietor is truly someone special, even compared to a Traveler like me, but I don't suppose you have met yet.

I've heard so many stories about you all... the Sea Bears have even told me they think you are The Chosen. Well, the message in my mind said "THE CHOOSED," so I suppose Sea Bears are not very good at spelling. Even Rosalind is pleased by your displays.

I hope you will all continue to make progress and grow, for this is only the very beginning.

But, the reason I am reaching out is because I too need a favor. I have been summoned to Mysticaire District to meet with the leader of the Order of Mysterium, another of our city's Great Ones. I am there now, in the land of almighty magic, and I must commune with the cosmos.

In my absence, I have heard that some of my creatures have ... been a little problematic. I allow them to leave the confines of our enchanted chambers to roam the grounds of the complex, but only with supervision. I am given to understand they have now escaped and are all about the apartment complex grounds, and more worryingly, some are even wandering all about High Rise Village.

As the Guardian of these beings: I entreat you, will you help to round up and safeguard my precious children? They are called the Woofaloomps. They come in different sizes and shapes, but here are some examples:

In return for assisting with the safekeeping of my precious creatures, I will use the power cosmic to grant each of you one wish. While there are things even I do not have the Authority to grant*, there is much I can do, and I shall attend your entreaties.

I ask that each of you who wants a wish granted write three wishes -- your top three desires. Share them among yourselves, and your comrades may vote for which they think should be granted. The only requirement is that, to vote on another's wish, you understand you are agreeing to help them in this endeavor.

OOC Notes/Hints

This post can be used to plot with other PCs over the details of The Great Woofaloomp Round-up(TM).

*Soraya cannot grant anything that just wouldn't be possible (ex: returning characters home or bringing other characters in), but for those wanting regains or items (John Wick and his pencil? lol) or other goodies? Well, wish away. Or be creative -- I will try to make them happen unless, again, it's gamebreaking or something.

*Hints on the Woofaloomp Round-up and Woofaloomps themselves: mischievous and playful creatures, they can mimic voices and sounds to perfection, and they will use this ability to evade PCs. They're also fast and can "glitch" between spaces, making them sneaky.

The calming aura of the Bursterflies and their mesmerizing flight patterns might be a good lure to get the attention of the Woofaloomps. The brightness of fire magic or the soothing properties of water magic (enchanted bubbles) can also be used to lure and distract Woofaloomps. PCs can also be creative in other ways, and these fuzzy creatures will be all over Evergreen Terrace, swarming the place.

*PCs can make their own logs for the round-up itself, or they can interact here, and I may also create a full mini-event log. Any/every way is fine. This post is mainly for IC plotting, but if y'all wanna go ahead and get on it, that's also fine.
